As I lay in bed at night I can hear the sounds. Can you hear them? I bet if you shut the door, turn off all the lights, lay in your bed and close your eyes you can. The screams? They're there.

As I lay in bed at night I can hear the sounds. Can you hear them? I bet if you shut the door, turn off all the lights, lay in your bed and close your eyes you can. The screams? They're there. Listen close. They're faint, you have to listen close. Maybe someone locked in the attic? Maybe someone in the cellar? Maybe someone right outside your door with a hand on theire mouth? Then again maybe its the cat from next door. Can you hear the knife being pulled? I can. Its a soft and dull sound. The sound of metal rubbing against leather. Listen hard - its there. I can even hear the muscles flex, tightening the clothes as if the end is near. But its not is it? No, there are many more sounds to be heard - The knife puncturing the skin; the flow of blood over clothes; the scream of someone dying; the gurgle of someone almost dead; the fall of a body maybe right outside your door; the knife being cleaned in your bathroom sink; your front door being shut ever so carefully as to not to wake you up; the sound of feet walking slowly across your lawn. Can you hear them? I can.
