North Korean Court Sentences Laura Ling and Euna Lee to Twelve Years of Hard Labor

A North Korean court sentenced Euna Lee and Laura Ling, sister of Lisa Ling, to twelve years hard labor. The verdicts are considered final and cannot be appealed.

Ling and Lee were reporting on human trafficking near the North Korean and Chinese border when they were arrested in March.< p>

Both Ling and Lee were working for former Vice-President Al Gore's Current Media when they were arrested.

The State Department is trying different channels to win the release of Ling and Lee. Gore has no comment at this time.
