NPR's Science Friday - The Radio Show for People Who Like Science

You don't have to be a geek to like Science Friday, the radio program (and podcast) from National Public Radio. Science Friday examines all kinds of science topics in the news with interviews and discussions with scientists, in a way laymen can understand.

Why are flies so good at escaping the fly swatter? What advances are being made in trying to cure Type 1 diabetes by regrowing islet cells? Why are childhood vaccinations becoming so controversial, and what are the health implications of this?

If you enjoy science, take a listen to Science Friday.

Science Friday

Mia, the shows are available for download from iTunes and other 'podcatcher' programs. You might also be able to download or stream episodes from their Web site. The story about vaccinations is featured on the site's front page, so you should be able to either read about or download the segment. Guess you're up to your green eyes in back-to-school stuff these days!

@idlewild, NPR

is the only station programmed in my car so I appreciate this info! About childhood vaccinations, my daughter had her sports physical two weeks ago and WITHOUT PERMISSION, they gave her a shot of Guardasil (HPV) and told her she has to come back for 2 more. I freakin' went to the moon about this so I would love to hear more about immunizations/controversies.... Peace, Mia NW Please visit my recent posts here Get paid to be a xombie! Join us here
