Obama Becomes Democratic Nominee

Obama Becomes Democratic Nominee

Democratic nominee Barak Obama has defeated one of two republicans for the race to the White House. After beating Hillary Clinton in last night's North Carolina race by 14 points there is a 0% chance she can now win.

Notice I am calling Hillary Clinton a republican. This is due to the fact she supports the war not to mention her possibly supporting McCain.

Maybe it's not fair to call her a republican, but she's certainly not a democrat. With her fake accent, campaigning in the back of pickup trucks and let's not forget the gas tax holiday scam who does Hillary represent?

The good news is that it no longer matters. She is but an after thought in this election. Her campaign, which back in the fall, looked to easily win with a clear cut nomination now relishes in the fact that she sold her soul only to make a fool of herself.

Meanwhile, bigots and racists everywhere, will be trying to come to terms with the next president not being white.

He's worth this Christian's vote

When the alternative is John McCain? Absolutely.

Is obama Worth A Christian's Vote?

Hey MythMan you are a smart idividual. Your applying of a very basic problem solving device is very commendable. You have the ability to teach sir. It is good to see a problem solving device being put into action. I honestly know that what was said here today by you was not because of anything I wrote. Your knowlege here is because of who and what you are. Jesus saved us by Who and What He is. Has nothing to do with you or me or anything we did. Non spiritual can not understand spiritual. The problem solving device of impersonal love is what would cause peace on earth. Simply because a Christian understands. That what someone esle does is not going to cause my happiness or not. Our enemies call us weak for this. The unbeliever in Jesus calls it tollerance. And than demands it. Christians call it a problem solving device called Impersonal Love. Now we are truly getting into Virtue. God's Virtue demanded justice. Impersonal love is how Jesus looks at us. He understands what we are capable of doing and what we are capable of not doing. Sir If you wanted to discuss the ins and outs of a candidate of your choice. I would listen. Because I understand your character.

Side-tracked

Let's return to the issue at hand, since it's easy to find poor comparisons and alternative meanings to explain your way. eggsoversy said that the Republican campaign will be run with integerity and virtue. I disagree with this since, like any other political campaign, it will involve taking low blows at the opposition (Obama) in order to score cheap political pointsand try to win the election. This means that the Republican campaign will not be run with either integrity or virtue. eggsoversy also said that the younger generation should be taught to expect integrity and virtue and then demand this from politicians, before launching into an emotional rant. I never disagreed with this, although some people seem to have misinterpreted my words completely. I merely said that it wasn't there in modern politics, so people shouldn't be deluded into thinking that it is. The older generation should teach the younger generation to be realistic about the situation: while ideally they want politicians with integrity and virtue, they must also be able to realise when politicians lack these characteristics. eggsoversy then unfairly asked What is your character? What are you teaching the young girls? Not exactly like I'm that old but I believe that young girls (and boys) should be taught to question rather than just accept, like I've been saying from the beginning. I don't see how anyone could have a problem with that. To conclude, "expect" may be a poorly chosen word. "Hope", "want" or "desire" would be much less ambiguous. If you expect something, it means there is a pretty good chance of it happening (like the sun rising), whereas if you hope for something, it is a lot less likely (like a politician with integrity and virtue).

"Expect" Is Not 'Pin All Your Hopes to the Chance That,' Tara

Example: You 'expect' me to respond to you (I can tell because you used one of my "magic words," just as I used one of yours :-D ). You didn't know I would--just as I don't know you will--so it's okay if there's no response; but we also know there might be a response. I think that's what ovresy is saying when `e says 'expect and DEMAND': know that the winner might be virtuous as surely as you know that you might be able to see a sunrise within 24 hours. Disagree? Say what, mythman?

To be totally honest, I have no idea what you are trying to tell me... but... All that I am saying is don't EXPECT that politicians will have integrity or virtue. I did not say that doing so was Wussing Out, just delusional. Teaching the "younger generation" to expect integrity and virtue when those qualities aren't there just perpetuates the cycle of ignorance and is a good example of stereotypical and authoritarian thinking. Instead, we should teach them to be open-minded and critical individuals, capable of thinking their own thoughts and not just agreeing with everyone else. Do you call someone doing that an "uncaring self-server"? I think teaching them to blindly follow is more characteristic of an "uncaring self-server". And yeah... it's the other way around.

Thanks Everyone

It is pretty amazing that this little Xomblurb made it to the top rated. Thanks to all of you who voted for it. Glad I got some crazy rightwingers so worked up. I was wondering who made up the 28% who still approve of Bush. I'm all about discussing issues, but like I said I am not reading comments of people who want to argue and name call or debate religion. That doesn't interest me. Peace! All about me and my writings.

Amazing Grace, because People Are Villains

What the Amazing Grace is (here-and-now) is 'that the things we can use are ours' (or 'that the things which are ours are things we can use,' only different in temporal terms). 'The knowledge that people react to things more-fully if you associate them with God' is one of the things people use. Use it well? Hopefully. Use it badly? I pray not, but **it happens. All we can do is continue to use it well and prosper the ones who follow us. Disagree? Join Here, Be Heard!

Oh Awesome Tara, Don't Mistake 'Wuss Out' for "Expect Virtues"

(or How to Disagree with Divinity) I'm sure you know Chaos Theory's precept, "People are uncaring self-servers," very well. But you're not going to change that by being even-more an uncaring self-server. A parable: The people in the apartment above mine (a badly-floored complex) walk around as if they are on the ground floor. This annoys the hell out of me; occasionally (rage makes us stupid) I attempt to solve the problem by pounding on the wall. It doesn't work. Did you hear that, or did you just listen? ... or the other way around, I forget. Disagree? Join Here, Be Heard!

In Short, 'Vote for Who You Would Choose to Be.'

It seems a literally democratic ideal: Run your own country. Obviously we can't actually do that, so the next best thing would be to vote for the one who's made the choices you would make, who's ended up where you would like to be in life; then it's almost as if the president is truly your 'leader'---going ahead of you to go where you would send yourself! great political observation

Good point mythman. Sounds like positions of weakness to me. Say no to war from a position of weakness. And the slander of a party from a position of weakness meant to demean and edify one's self. As for me. I will drink the blood of my enemies out of their own skull. The profession of a Soldier is an honorable one.
