Obama never said he "denounced" the U.S.

The remarks that were alleged could not even be construed to be anti-U.S. (anti-Bush, maybe). Fast forward to 23:00 and listen to what he had to say from 23:00 to the end of the clip, if anyone doesn't want to listen to the whole thing.

He said we weren't perfect, that sometimes we strayed from our ideals, and that he loves this country. He also said that we shouldn't be condoning torture or discrimination against people who don't look like us.

The fact that anti-Obamites read their own prejudices into anything he said aside, the speech was decent and nothing in it was anti-American. If anyone had trouble with the speech, it would be those who are still living under the illusion that we can do no wrong.
