Obama v/s McCain - Loser Will Be Winner? Latest In US Elections

Your are Shocked!! I was too when I overheard it ..from the discussion of two old men sitting on the back seat of bus I was traveling. This aroused my curiosity and I further glued my ears to their gossip but the bus slowed down abruptly for the stop, to my dismal it was the stop where old men had to get down. I turned back, he was smiling and said young lady you have been listening our discussion, right. Yes, but please tell what you really mean about loser winning. “To get the answer you need to get down with us” chuckle second one teasingly. My stop was also not very far away but I could not resist the temptation of getting the answer which otherwise could have turned into headache. Three of us went to a coffee shop nearby.

Taking a sip old man said “More tough time is coming ahead already we are already facing sort of turbulent economic hurricane which is growing big with each passing day. It was evident from handling of Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch debacle that the policymakers are trying to resolve them by using populist measures and applying quick fix short term solution. They are just ignoring the fundamentals and not following the books. So the new incumbent will virtually wear crown of thorn and loser” he questioned me “has what to lose.” Coffee was finished and old men had left away but I was still thinking and more confused. Politics and economics were never my cup of tea.

If you understand this (which happens to be riddle for me) then please let me know how winner will be looser and vice versa.

hmmm

I think Obama is looser than McCain but Palin in looser than Biden - just because of the amount o' kids plus my dreams may be playing a role.

I think you meant to say "loser".

Like "I am a loser for pointing out grammatical mistakes of foreigners."

To answer your question it would work much the same as the old Bush v Dukakis. At the time there was no way to bring the economy back without raising or creating taxes. Neither candidate had the balls to own up to that. Of course Bushy promised "no new taxes" which he lived up to. But he did raise taxes and everyone threw the "no new taxes" in his face. So he became a one term pres that no one will remember other than to link him to the Gulf War. Thus he kinda came out as the loser even though he won. He was put into a no win situation. Funny enough, Clinton beat him by saying, in part, that his was going to have to raise taxes - amazing.

US Titanic

That surely is what all the serious mud wrestling in Washington is about. Both candidates know the country is in a mess but both want to be seen as knight in shining armour and not the captain of the US Titanic. However, I can't see either wanting to lose the race!

I think I know what they

I think I know what they meant...

If Obama wins, we are all losers. You'll find a better answer to your "riddle" here:

Just Words...Just Speeches?

Good luck with your pursuit of knowledge.
