Democratic candidate Barack Obama won the vote in the town that traditionally votes first in U.S. elections.

Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, which opened voting shortly after midnight, went for Obama with 15 votes to six for John McCain. Obama became the first Democrat to winin Dixville Notch since 1968.
