Oil Price Per Barrel Adjusted For Inflation Chart.

How much are we really paying for a barrel of oil? The oil price per barrel that is stated on the evening news does not indicate what it would be if it were adjusted for inflation. The price of oil in 1946 was higher that the inflation adjusted price of a barrel of oil bought in 1998. Oil had dropped recently and the inflation adjusted price per barrel is at one of the lowest levels in decades. For more on the inflation adjusted price of oil see this chart.
