Olde Tyme Recipes; Steamed cornbread

Steamed Corn Bread

2 level cups of cornmeal
1 cup of flour
2/3 cup of molasses
1 tsp of soda dissolved in 3 cups of hot water

1 tsp salt

1 pint of sweet milk

Add milk gradually to dry ingrediants and mix thourougly; stea, 1 hour or boil 3 hours and bake one half hour, serve with fresh churned butter. And tall glass of cold milk from the ice box
