Older People Are More Prone To Atrial Fibrillation

A new study reveals as reported by Health Day News stated that older people are more prone to Atrial Fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation is actually an abnormal rhythm of the heart wherein the two upper chambers of the heart tend to twitch rather than beat steadily. It may not be as deadly as other heart rhythm but it is something that should be given attention and can be prevented.

Prior studies showed where more concentrated among young and middle aged, generally healthy people. The new study was done on people with an average age of 73, comparing their physical activities and with the risk of developing atrial fibrillation.

The new study also showed that light to moderate exercise like walking even for just a few blocks, or even dancing can help prevent the abnormal heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation.

Therefore, it is essential that we should at least do some physical activity rather than just sit around and do nothing.
