Olivia Newton-John and other celebrities are planning a walk along the Great Wall of China to raise funds for a cancer centre in Melbourne, Australia. Melbourne is Newton-John's hometown.

This is no easy walkabout. The Great Wall of China is high up on the mountain tops and the path in places can go up and down in dizzying degrees. But the view is breath-taking.

The planned walk will cover more than 200 km and will last 21 days, starting on April 7. Cliff Richard, Jane Seymour, Joan Rivers and Leeza Gibbons are some of the celebrities who have pledged to join in, for part if not all of the walk.














Olivia Newton-John is a recovered cancer patient. This Great Walk to Beijing is a worthy charity venture.
