I really recommend going to visit a North area, about 3 hours away from Barcelona, called SOMONTANO (www.somontano.org) in the region of Aragon.

It’s located in the domains of Huesca and the main city is Barbastro. Huesca has got an airport that you can link it from Madrid or South Spain. There’re really good rail systems to get there from Lerida or Madrid. Then it’s recommended to rent a car to get a change to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Somontano   it’s well known for their wines and their main Bodegas are; Enate, Vinas del Vero, Bodegas Pirineos, Olvena, Laus... there’re many more up to 60 top quality bodegas and rising.

The area offers and excellent olive oil and local products. Breathtaking landscapes and beautiful weather will make your stay a worthy journey to the heart of Huesca.

The place I would recommend without any doubts would be La Posada de Lalola in a little village in the middle of the silence’s paradise (check the web site www.laposadadelalola.com).  Charming hotel with only 7 good size rooms keeping the main building as it was back in 1800. You’ll relax and disconnect from the grid, while you will be delightful with their restaurant and family welcoming. If you wish you may request the breakfast basket and it will be left by your door at the time you order it the night before having the option to enjoy it in your room or take it to their amazing garden a must recommended experience at night time if the sky it’s clear.

They’ll take care of you and inform you about what to do every day of your stay if you don’t have other plans. You may request to them to book for you guided tours to the bodegas.
