One Day, One Deal
posted May 13, 2009 - 3:30pmI recently found out about these websites that host one item for one day at a great deal until they are gone. I started looking at them and began to wonder if they were good deals or not. I consider a deal as somethingI really want something and it is a good price, than it is a deal, or you can sell it for more than what you paid, it is a deal.
I started to look at many different sites that have these one day deals. Yes some of them looked like great deals, but I didn't have a use or interest for the item. Other we not a deal at all. If you want to find out if they are a deal or not, Google the item and see where you can find it. If you are finding the item in many places at about the same price, then it is probably not a great deal. If you find the item and a place like Walmart is selling the same item, compare the prices and see if it makes sense.
For example, I went to a deal a day site, which I feel has some of the better deals, Woot!

Their deal for today is a Microsoft Zune 30GB Digital Media Player for $79.99 + $5.00 shipping. I then Googled the "Microsoft Zune 30GB Digital Media Player" and found the same item at Walmart for $189.88. NOW THAT IS A DEAL.
Never assume that what you see on these sites is a steal. These companies are just buying mass quantities of an item to get the biggest discount they can. Other companies like Walmart can get the item at the same price and sometimes even better. Do your research, it only takes a few minutes.
Here are a list of some other links to other one day deal sites that you may find useful.
