Fighting Back Against E-Mail Scams

Fighting Back Against E-Mail Scams

As I was running through my spam filter today to see if anything important got caught, I noticed a recurring theme. There was one particular "Make $200 per day entering simple data" e-mail (the data-entry scam) that showed up half a dozen times from different sources. It looks like the scammers find something that works then all jump on.

My suggestion is to set your spam filter on at least medium and anything that repeats many times in your spam filter from unknown sources should be treated as an obvious scam.

To quote Robert DeNiro in Ronin: "Whenever there is a question, there is no question."

For e-mail fraud reporting, check out this website for good links. (I am not affiliated with it, but I have used it many times to report scams, such as fake pharmaceuticals and the Nigerian 419 scam.)
