Online Dating Is Fun

Online Dating Is Fun

No longer is there a stigma to online dating. Just a few years ago a couple would never admit to family and friends that they "met online." If you even uttered those two words you were considered 'crazy' or 'desperate' enough to date just about anybody coming along. Well, going into the first decade of the 21st century, now online dating is socially acceptable. It's considered fun. Online dating offers several advantages over the traditional, offline methods of meeting people. Whether these benefits appeal to you or not will be a matter of personal preference and style, The benefits are well worth thinking about if you're looking for a new way to find a potential partner.

You profile on an online dating service gives you complete control of your first impression that you give to other singles. You can write as much as you want about yourself and what you're looking for in someone else. Along with this you can upload your most flattering picture to display on your profile, just make sure it's the real you and not some stock photo.

Also, you have further control over who you interact with online. Other members can contact you only through the personals site and all of your personal information is kept private and secure. You can respond, ignore, or block anyone you want from contacting you. You're in complete control of the situation!

You can pre-screen potential dates by spending a few weeks corresponding by email to determine whether you want to meet him or her. On the other hand, you can get to know someone, and decide that you don't want to meet them, and then never be in contact with them again. Online dating is a real time saver. The money you save on the first few getting to know you dates could pay for 6 months online dating. You can get to know someone online during your free trial if you've been contacted first, and then get to know them instead of going on a few dates to get to know them. This could be a more comfortable way to get to know someone before you make any commitments.

Disappointed

that you would label me as a whack job. I mean just because I have a thing for bringing home homeless, bald, deaf, paraplegic, blind and incontinent chimpanzees riddled with ebola for us to "play" with doesn't make me a whack job does it? I mean c'mon who hasn't done that? Visit my homepage here

online dating = not fun

I'm agreeing with the user above me, it's horrible. You have to pay for almost every website. I even payed yahoo for 3 months to post/ look at PERSONAL ADS. I am going to admit I am quite picky when it comes with guys, and when I find one they're total opposite from what they seem over the internet. I've met one complete whack job, wooboy I don't know if I could ever do online dating after that one. Plus sometimes there's distance involved. I've went through 2 long distance relationships and I am currently in a long distance relationship now ... it SUCKS!!!!!!!! If you meet someone over the internet, just make sure they're worth it.

Online Dating is *NOT* fun.

Online dating may be fun for women, but it's just as bad if not worse for men. Dating websites charge you money to either look at profiles, or allow you to *try* to contact women. I say try... because women get an endless parade of men hitting on them. Guys on the other hand, are trying to meet women in an environment where it's even EASIER to ignore and get away from guys you don't like. I tried to register on E-Haromony... and was shown GRAPHICALLY how unappealing I am. They had a pie chart that showed that less than 1% of their users would be interested in me. I tried Chemistry.com All it did was try to get me to contact fat girls who lived in NYC, pretty far away from where I do live. It's geographic matching capabilities are equal to the skills a female vampire has in putting on makeup. I tried Craigslist.org... their M4W boards are an elaborate scheme to spam people. I have never once recieved a reply that wasn't spam doing this. I have tried ads with lots of pictures... no pictures. At the end of the day, if you're unappealing in person... you're going to be unappealing online. Dating is not fun, modern society has put all the onus on the guys to do it all. Girls are trained to reject all but what they think is the cream of the crop. And I'm tired of people saying how easy online dating is. It's not. It's painful, and so was reading your article. I can tell you're one of those women who has to beat guys off with a stick.
