An American soldier, in Iraq

Open letter To Agaric

Some good hard working freedom loving Americans feel that we should support our president, in any matter, and that to support our troops is to support our president.
Agaric is one such good American.< p>

He responded in a thread to one of my posts, critical of the administration's conduct of the war in Iraq. What follows is my open letter to Agaric:

" Agaric,
The administration would have good Americans believe that any protest of the Bush War in Iraq is UN-American, and in some obscure way, hurtful to our troops. It is in the best interest of the administration to promote that concept, because if Americans discover that other Americans, those who have time and motivation to follow the world news, have discovered flaws in the administrations reasoning, it might be hurtful, politically.

Our troops in Iraq are perhaps the finest in U.S. History; partially because many of them are reserve troops, who tend to be professional, educated men. In point of fact, all of our troops are of the highest caliber. It is a horror that they should be subjected to the stress, and inhumanity of war.

This particular war should never have come about. Do you understand that the phrase, "pre-emptive strike" means that WE started it? Iraq not only did not have Weapons Of Mass Destruction, it also did not have a tenable military. In fact, the Iraqi Air force was buried in the desert, as our aeriel photographs clearly showed. Iraq had little or nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks on America.

Bush, the reactionary, emotionally reacted in an irrational way.
Now, listen and think! We are supposedly trying to bring Democratization to Iraq, introduce them to the "American Way". Thus far we have killed 600,000 of them, men, young men, women, and children. We have destroyed their cities, their art, and we are insistent that they deny their religions, and culture, to embrace ours. The citizens of Iraq have steadfastly refused to cow down to Bush's demands. They are an ancient culture, in a world that was long established before our American culture began. To not protest such an unjust, immoral war is wrong. To "Turn your head and pretend you don't see" will only lead to more corruption, and permit more incompetence.

Thankyou for your response.
BBJ"

Your right there.

Well first,I am sorry for saying shame on you, becouse your much older then me and realy don't mean to disrespect old people. But at same time it pisses me of when i hear from our side haveing mercy in fucking iraq and talking about them like they so inoscent and crap. Like i said they have friking knife as simblo of ther religion wich means war. they are not freaking peace troopers like our side. Am not trying to seperate world here on two or more sides but unfortunatly it is like that thanks to our stupid president. And it is true like you said and everybody knows that this is his personal war. I don't know if you watched the film with Antony Hopkins called "INSTINCT" There is the scene in the movie when he draws the map of world migrations in side the cell where he was locked up saying something about how there was two different group of people from area of middle east and northern part of africa where life began for us humans on this planet. Group of people that lived in northern africa were people of prosperity and united work in williges everyday of ther life, and other group that's todays middle east, well this other group was the one that fought battles were ever they went. So that makes all the difference between us working humans and those animals from middle east.

Communication is the missing element.

Your emotion suggests to me that your background is probably in that ancient part of the world. But, your thinking is not based on fact. The perpetrators of 9/11 were mostly of Saudi Arabian origin.. Most of them died in the attacks. The Arab world was angered by what they perceived, and possibly rightly so, as unfair prices for oil, and natural gas. They needed fair prices so they could establish themselves in the modern world. Saddam Hussein was neither involved nor interested in the 9/11 attacks. Bush chose to attack Iraq because they were weak, they had offended his father, and he had a drive to change the government of Iraq, so he would have someone empowered there with whom we could easily negotiate oil prices. Bush is a "reactionary", and he reacted inappropriatly, based on emotion, rather than reason. Religion is a source of the world's problems. Rulers like Mylosovich make organized religion a terrible thing. Perhaps in coming centuries, we will see an end to organized religion. Religions tend to "de-volve" (as opposed to evolve). They may have wonderful, inspired qualities at the time of their origin, but over the decades, and centuries, they are devastated by greed, and lust, and pride. The children often suffer. President G.W.Bush grew up in the shadow of his father. He is not a capable leader. He contrives principals such as "We do not negotiate with terrorists", then stands adamantly behind them. Negotiating is a necessary element in the modern world. Bush's father, the 21st president of the United States, was the same way. When the Arab nations wanted a large convention, to discuss "linkage", he refused to consider such a meeting. "Linkage" suggests that all these issues are related, from the troubles in israel/Palestine, to the oil wars in Kuwait, and to the unresolved issues centering around Iraq. Thank you for your comment.

Listen Johnny no offense.

In your post you have writen how iraqies got nothing to do with the 9/11. And I can ashure you that they started first just becouse of knowleage that they don't have nukes and stuff. Bush tryed to trade money for they gas and they didn't like it that's why they brought the world trade centar down. Read this uper sentence one more time and think about it it makes sence to me you know. And let's not even talk about how hatefull is thers religion of alah called jihad and what they started in bosnia and kosovo, it is not only USA that have to deal with these idiots but the whole F@#$%^ world is messed up becouse of islamic religion. While our religion have cross in it budists have jing and jang they have knife to kill with. So we christians have sword turned up-side down which means peace . Budists have nice balance in jing and jang. And islam have knife that you probably never knew about and you calling ther religion ancient all i can tell you and rest of christians that think that way is : SHAME ON YOU! Milan Grbic
