Operation Toilet Flush
posted October 9, 2008 - 2:03pmWith the presidential elections coming up in less than a month, many of us who vote absentee should be seeing our voting forms arriving in the mail. I've already received all my voting materials.
If I've learned anything from the current political campaigns, it is that both the McCain Palin Republican ticket and the Obama/Biden Democratic ticket are deplorable choices to run our country. Neither pays any attention to what the Constitution has to say nor do they even acknowledge that it exists. It is politicians that have ignored the Constitution that got us to where we are today.
Where Ron Paul or even Dennis Kucinich were speaking the truth about what was wrong with the country and presenting a viable plan to restore it, the Republicrats were busy instilling fear in the electorate by claiming that the other side was going to raise our taxes, destroy the economy, make us all worship in mosques, or put babies on spikes. Anything but the truth.
There used to be a time when we Americans voted our hopes. We wanted what was best for our country and we discussed the issues amongst ourselves. Black voters even organized themselves to ensure that their hopes of becoming equal could be realized. One man, one vote. We were optimistic.
Look where we find ourselves today. We vote our fears. We are afraid of losing our retirement accounts. We are afraid of losing our prescription coverage. We are afraid of paying more than half of our incomes to feed the government Leviathan. We are afraid of losing our ability to finance that big screen color TeeVee with HD sports channels and TiVo. We are afraid that we won't be able to eat fast food several times a week. We fear losing every convenience that our Made in China Walmarts can bring to us.
In a Universal sense, we are giving energy to what we DON'T want. We get it because we have failed to stay focused on what we DO want. Don't think we don't deserve every lousy and corrupt politician sitting in office now because we got exactly what we asked for.
So, how do we turn this around? I give you OPERATION TOILET FLUSH. If you are truly interested in flushing out the political stench from your city, county, state, and federal government, we need to first clean house. That means that every single incumbent must go. I don't care what political persuasion you are, this November you must vote for whomever is NOT the incumbent.
Since George Bush is a lame duck president, we cannot vote for his opponent, although that would have been nice four years ago. Further, since McCain and Obama are not the change we need, I recommend that you either write in Ron Paul for President or Dennis Kucinich for President. If you don't want to do either (although a Paul-Kucinich ticket would be dynamite), then just leave that part of your ballot blank. If you vote for Obama fearing what McCain will do or vice versa, we will be in for another four or eight years of the same. Do you want that?
By dumping the whole lot of current politicians, we can take the first step in flushing out the corruption in high places. Politicians have demonstrated for the most part that they only care about staying in office. Take that away and they might just start to listen to us. That's my hope.
