Opponents of Healthcare Reform (The Latest GOP Excuse/Complaint): Yahoo!

The title of a recently released Yahoo! article is "Healthcare system wastes up to $800 billion a year". This is obviously a scare tactic in favor of the status quo.

"The health care system is just as wasteful as PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA says it is and proposed reforms could be paid for by fixing some of the most obvious inefficiencies, preventing mistakes and fighting fraud (this is critical),according to a Thomson Reuters report released Monday". This is clearly a smear campaign and POLITICS because this report is calling out President Obama.

According to this report, issued by Thomson Reuters vice president for healthcare analytics (what a bizarre/strange title) Robert Kelley, "America's healthcare system is indeed hemorrhaging BILLIONS of dollars and THE OPPORTUNITIES TO SLOW THE FISCAL BLEEDING ARE SUBSTANTIAL". Notice the phrase "the opportunities to slow the fiscal bleeding", which OBVIOUSLY refers to the deficit...yet again. The president has already said that this will not substantially add to/worsen the deficit and he is working with his Council of Economic Advisers on this.

"The bad news is that an estimated $700 billion is wasted annually. That's one-third of the nation's health care bill". SCARE TACTICS.

"The good news is that, by attacking waste, we can reduce healthcare costs without adversely affecting quality of care or access to care". The key phrases in this statement are "reduce healthcare costs" (a Republican obsession) and "access to care" (a lot of people won't have "access to care" if health insurance remains private).
