Orgone Accumulators were invented by Wilhelm Reich and are quoted by William S Burroughs and Jack Kerouac. Reich thought of orgones as a kind of life force. The US FDA charged Reich with perpetrating a scam and had all the accumulators destroyed. This probably means the Orgone Accumulators worked too well and were a threat to the authorities.
