Pakistan's Presidencial Election Won by Asif Ali Zardari
Asif Ali Zardari wins Pakistan's Presidency by getting 352 more votes than his rival which granted his victory. Asif Ali Zardar, the widower of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto won a sweeping victory in the Pakistan's Presidential Election by getting a total of 481 votes out of 702 votes. His two rivals are far behind him in the contest.
During the election at least 15 people are dead near Peshawar by a powerful bomb explosion.
In Pakistan president is elected by secret ballots in the national and four provincial assemblies.
Asif Ali Zardar got all the 65 votes in the Sindh province. He got 56 out of 65 in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) and in Balochistan he won 59 out of 65 votes.
