Palin Should Drop Out, Says Conservative Columnist Kathleen Parker

The choice of Sarah Palin as running mate seemed at first a stroke of genius to many conservatives. Now that Palin has taken her first steps into the limelight, however, some Republicans are having second thoughts. Conservative columnist Kathleen Parker, writing in the National Review, says that recent media interviews have shown that Palin is sorely lacking in experience, and is calling for her to drop out.

Parker says that she was wishing and hoping for Palin to succeed, and was delighted when John McCain first named her to be his running mate. But Parker says it has now become clear that "Palin is a problem."

"Quick study or not, she doesn’t know enough about economics and foreign policy to make Americans comfortable with a President Palin should conditions warrant her promotion," Parker writes.

While secretly pulling for Palin, Parker says "Palin’s recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League."

Parker says that when listening to Palin in her recent interviews, her "cringe reflex" is exhausted. "Palin filibusters. She repeats words, filling space with deadwood. Cut the verbiage and there’s not much content there."

Parker notes that McCain couldn't drop Palin from the ticket without incurring the wrath of conservatives and women, so she is calling for Palin to drop out, and maybe cite personal concerns (such as caring for her new baby) as a reason.

"Do it for your country," Parker says.

@C.C--Then She's a 'Good Little Woman.' But Was It Hail-to-GWW?

No! (It was/is "Hail to the Chief!" for our friends unfamiliar.) Maybe in the "New World Order" all leaders are really just the good-little-women of their next-higher, but HERE the leaders are those who know the way that grants Universal Prosperity (and, in this system, they have to PROVE that knowledge before rising to the position)! ---Uncle MythMan Enlightens You on Money Here! Good news & bad news

The good news for Palin is that the polls show she was the more likable one in the debate. The bad news is that she was also viewed as less qualified to be president. But who's this Confucius guy... does he do polling for Gallup or Zogby? ;-)

Too late for that

Only a few weeks until the election... it's too late to replace her with someone else, and try to introduce them to someone else. If McCain had to replace her, he would have had to do it before the VP debate.

She should drop out. She's

She should drop out. She's a joke and a sorry ploy by the McCain campaign to "ignite" the far right base. She's a pawn in the game and she's not savvy enough to know it.

This all could have been avoided

if Mr. McCain had taken my advice and chosen the Montauk Monster as running mate. Word!

@wHATUP--AND Parker Responds Righteously

I DO give Parker a little more credit for her DEFENSE of her reputation. Her reputation remains truthful! Yayy! ---Buddha tells Uncle MythMan, "Flood the Open Eyes with the Truth, for as Long as You Exist!" Help Him Spread the Truth (about stuff) Here!

@MythMan- 2008 election

I've always been a Montauk Monster supporter. He (she? it?) has the experience and dedication we need in Washington.
