Introduction

How many of us actually know the lines in our hands? Do we really think they convey any meaning? Well... Great philosophers Aristotle, Plato, and Ptolemy saw great significance in palm line markings and saw them as valuable keys to understanding character.

Roman rulers also were skilled in hand analysis. Josephus, a 1st Century historian, wrote that Julius Caesar was so skilled in reading palm lines that it was

Quote:

impossible for any
man whose palm he had seen to deceive him in any way.

Misconception About the Practice of Palm Reading

A short Life Line in no way indicates an untimely death. Modern Palmistry is less about predicting the future than about reading a person's character.

How to Begin
  • Observe your own hand.
  • Make a photocopy of it.
  • Do the same with your friends, family, and co-workers.
  • Note the similarities and differences.

Your hand is a very small map of the inner you. But remember, like maps of the world - everything changes with time - and so do you.

You can't change the past, but you can break through personal limitations and re-evaluate the what it is that defines you and go about finding out who you can be. The key lies in the palm of your hand!

The Lines of the Palm - General Characteristics

These are the guidelines when looking at palm lines:

  • In general, the more lines in the palm, the more emotional the individual.
  • Palms with very few lines - indicate that the person is a more physical, practical and organized spirit.
  • Fine, thin lines - indicate that the person is the intellectual and creative type.
  • Excess of fine lines - shows nervousness and scattered energy.
  • Deep, wide, and well-etched lines - is a sign of a person with strong likes and dislikes
  • Chained, feathery, or broken lines - indicate a person who doesn't like being alone and that person has a fragile self image.

I hope this gives you a head start into the fascinating world of palmistry. In my next xombyte I discuss "Major Lines: Part 1 - The Life Line." Until then, go ahead and photocopy your hands so that you can learn to read your own palm and learn a a lot about yourself and eventually others in the near future.
