Paralyzed Rats Walk With Electrical Stimulation

Through the use ofdrugs, electrical stimulation and locomotor training scientists have allowed paralyzed rats with spinal injuries a chance to walk again. The paralyzed rats were able to support normal" weight-bearing locomotion" as stated in the article. The part that makes this most interesting is that they were able to do this without any input from the brain. With a combination of drugs and electrical stimulation the rats were able to walk with a full stepping motion.
