Paranormal Books: Civil War Ghosts to Maine Ghosts

Chilly fall weather is here in New England and you may find yourself cozying up in the house more these days. Challenging the mind with some remarkable paranormal reading is a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon…after football of course.
Here are three books I highly recommend for paranormal fall reading. I have read these books and they are available at major bookstores and online at Amazon.
“Phantom Army of the Civil War and other Southern Ghost Stories” Compiled and Edited by Frank Spaeth from the files of FATE Magazine – Castle Books
This is an amazing book consisting of thirty-five spine-chilling stories of a paranormal nature. The tales take place in Southern states and are personal encounters of spirits who haunt the swamps, mansions and the battlefields of the Civil War.
Even if you do not have an interest in the paranormal and ghostly phenomenon, the rich history alone in this book is worth the read.
“Do Dead People Watch You Shower?” Concetta Bertoldi - Harper
Bertoldi is a full-time medium, who consults with England’s Royal family, American politicians and of course, scores of celebrities.
Even though the author answers many questions seriously, concerning loved ones residing now on the other side; she is very light-hearted in nature and not the least bit shy.
The book is set in a distinctive question and answer format. For example, “Can the Other Side tell you if your partner is cheating on you?” Not wanting to spoil the pleasure of Bertoldi’s answer…you will have to read the book to find out the author's reply.
Some of the many questions in the book delve into how children arrive here and the various ways our deceased loved ones can communicate with us.
Other fun questions and answers covered in the book include: what the dead wear, the dead and time travel and whether or not the dead actually rest.
“Ghosts of New England” - Hans Holzer – Wings Books New York
This is a superb collection of thirty-two ghostly accounts gathered throughout the New England area, which were personally investigated by the author. Many stories are well known, while others are a delightful surprise.
From the spooky tale of New Hampshire’s “Ocean-Born” Mary,” to “The Ghost at Port Clyde” in Maine; there is an unnerving story to persuade even the biggest skeptic of the possibility of the supernatural.
“Ghosts of New England” is packed with narratives of unidentifiable sounds, footsteps and bizarre ghostly phenomenon that have remained difficult to solve from a scientific standpoint for eons.

Whoa! Creepy!
Do dead people watch you shower? Well, believe it or not, I wrote a screenplay once with that exact scene in it (only the people weren't dead – they were engaging in remote viewing).
I love books that cross a genre (history and paranormal), so as soon as I get caught up on reading all the books on my bookshelf, I'll have to add these books to my must-read list.
Thanks for sharing and thanks for the comment on my latest controversial article.
