To say that Frank Bruni is the restaurant critic for the New York Times is hardly to say enough. This is a journalist of note with a long and varied career that has taken him all over the world. In this piece for the Sunday New York Times Bruni explores the complexities of parenting and diet, of food and body image, of mixed signals and deep concern in the face of childhood obesity and eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa. It's worth noting that Bruni has struggled with weight and diet and body shape his entire life -- which he discusses in this piece. His most recent book, a memoir, is called Born Round: The Secret History of a Full-Time Eater.
