Being an independently wealthy heiress means never having to say you're sorry. Since you are your own boss, you don't have to worry about getting fired for bad behavior. But it now seems Paris Hilton's randy and raunchy lifestyle has cost her a gig and maybe some income.

It was announced the other day that she has been fired as spokesperson and namesake for a pair of Club Paris nightclubs in Florida. Club owner Fred Khalilian made the announcement January 4, saying that Paris Hilton had "created a circus around herself." The announcement came after Khalilian said that she had failed to make scheduled appearances at the club's Orlando location. He said that the problems with Hilton began two years ago when the heiress appeared six hours late for the club's grand opening.

The owner has said that the name of the clubs, which are located in Orlando and Jacksonville, will not change because they are well known. But the association will refer to that *other* Paris, the one in Europe, and not to Ms. Hilton. Since Jacksonville is also famous for being the world headquarters of that emerging media giant Xomba Inc., I have to wonder if any members of Team Xomba have been to Club Paris or have rubbed shoulders with Ms. Hilton...

Paris Hilton's spokespeople didn't have immediate word on the move by the nightclubs, but said they would address Khalilian's statement "at an appropriate time."
