Paris Hilton Video on Internet Again!

Yes, Paris Hilton is in the news and on the internet again, but this time for something positive. Our wayward socialite turned herself in to LA County jail to serve her short jail sentence for violating her probation for D.U.I. earlier this year.

While the papparazzi and international media staked out the main entrances to the jail in hopes of getting a glimpse of Paris on her way to do maybe the first right thing in her life and video voyeurs were kept in rapt attention, I was struck with the thought that--thankfully--we can't be subjected to another installment of Driving Miss Britney's Daisy for at least another 23-45 days.

Don't we have anything better to do with our lives than gawk at someone who, without her money, would be just another sick, sad waste of potential and a Girls Gone Wild reject? Are there no longer any young women aspiring to be doctors or scientists or corportate executives who should be held as far more appropriate role models for our children? Egad!

I can summarize the whole situation by invoking an expression that contains the words *hell* and *handbasket*.
