The Passing of wHATUP

The Passing of wHATUP

It is with extreme sorrow that I am annoucing the passing of wHATUP. His death has been a long time in coming but at the same time seems rather quick.

It has only been within the last few months that I have outgrown the pen name. There were a couple of reasons I had to put wHATUP to rest.

1. It was a stupid name anyway. What am I a budweiser commercial?

2. If I got one more "what up wHATUP" message in my inbox I was going to heave my computer in the direction of Jacksonville.

3. I am really trying to become a writer and not just a blogger. I just couldn't bare the thought of a potential agent/publisher/whatever looking at my writings here and seeing the screen name wHATUP associated with it. It just screamed of someone that is unprofessional.

4. With the new site I wanted a new start. This kinda going along with #3. With the new site I really want to make a concerted effort to be a fiction writer and I think using my real name is the first step.

So, so long wHATUP, it has been great knowing you but you out lived your usefulness - adios!

Annoying capitalization

At least he didn't do the aLtErNaTiNg CaPs that so many of the crazy kids these days love to do.

Oooh, you know how much he hates that, ha ha

Remember, a long time ago he admitted to being a bit tipsy when he wrote the name which explains the random caps. I did use the random caps but I reduced it to wH. Kind like pH but less acid-y. Peace, Mia Northwest I'm on Twitter, are you?

Whatup, whatup?

Yeah, the old name is probably not the best choice for building a writing career. And the odd capitalization (which I refused to adhere to, as you no doubt noticed!) seemed like something a teen would do (which may explain why you got so many messages/friend requests from the Hannah Montana/iCarly set!). Good luck with your writing endeavors, look forward to reading more of your works. Maybe one day I will use my full legal name, Phineas T. Idlewild...

Thank you sir

exactly

Mostly I was just embarrassed by the name. It came to the point where it was a liability so for my future I did need to dump it. Visit my homepage here

Good Idea Whatup!

I changed my pen name from Wagen Load Productions, the name of my self-publishing company to L Wagen for reason #3. Because publishers told me to get an Internet presence with a pseudonym that could be actually used. You didn't need your real name, but a name that could appear on a book. Good idea for name change for your future career!
