Pasta and sweet peas

Because in combat zones there is no time to waste my husband , marine TQs, learned how to eat very fast . I still remember the macaroni cheese dish he had the first time we went out for lunch. It was quite an experience to see an  handsome  man attack and devour a plate of pasta in few seconds . However  there is a  pasta dish  that when cooked properly I am faster than my husband in eating it. Sweet pea’s lovers may find very delicious, “pasta e piselli “(pasta and sweet peas).

 Pasta and sweet peas

 227 gr Fettuccine

1 can of sweet peas,1 sweet onion

Garlic salt, (salt to taste), Parmesan cheese (ad libitum), 3 slices of bacon, 4 tablespoon of olive oil.

Cut the onion in thin slices, fry in olive oil with garlic salt and bacon pieces for 5- 10 minutes.  Add drained sweet peas and cook for 10 minutes then add some water and two pinch of Parmesan stir and mash with a spoon the peas several times cook until a good mixture consistency is reached.

In boiling water cook fettuccine for 11 to 12 minutes, drain well, sprinkle parmesan cheese add pasta to the peas mixture, cook for further 2 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
