Patriots Beaten by Giants | Super Bowl's Biggest Upset
posted February 4, 2008 - 2:23amThe Patriots lost to the Giants 17-14. It may be the biggest upset in Super Bowl history.
It had been a marvellous season for the Patriots with a straight win record of 18-0, as they went in to face the New York Giants. But nobody was more stunned than the Patriots themselves to come out the loser. They were overcome with emotion and disbelief – there was almost an air of unreality about it.
But real it was. The Giants were jubilant. So were the cheering crowds. Though the Patriots were the favourite to win, the crowd was more on the side of the Giants in their hearts.
All was not rosy for the Patriots during the season, as there were allegations of cheating by Head Coach Bill Belichick, who simply disappeared from the scene before the final moment.
