Pay the Patent right maintenence or loose more...

The inventor of Variable Valve Timing technology which is becoming a standard feature for new car engines these days is loosing more than 10 million dollars in forms of royalties for not paying the IP rights maintenance till expiry. The fee was supposed to be paid by the legal owner of the patent, IRI Holdings of Minneapolis, but was let to expire intentionally. What waste!
