Pearl Harbor Day Information Page

On December 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and other nearby targets. More than 1,100 people were killed on the battleship Arizona alone in the Pearl Harbor attack.

A memorial was built where the Arizona once was stationed, and every Pearl Harbor Day services and a ceremony are held there.

This page gives a good brief overview of the attack itself and the consequences, and also tells how Pearl Harbor Day is observed in the San Francisco area.
