Perez Hilton's Fight with The Black Eyed Peas

Perez Hilton's Fight with The Black Eyed Peas

So apparently there was a fight that happened between Perez Hilton and members of the Black Eyed Peas. Perez attended the MuchMusic Awards in Toronto with Lady GaGa. Supposedly during a practice run, Fergie came up to Perez and was asking him about negative things he has posted on his site regarding one of their new songs. I guess that died down, but afterwards at an after party, Fergie approached him again. Again, this died down. Then at another after party Will.I.Am got in Perez's face which resulted in insults and mean words being exchanged. Perez assumed it was over but as he exited the afterparty, members of the Black Eyes Peas and their manager were outside. Perez states that their manager came up behind him and punched him in the face. Will.I.Am claims a random fan hit him, not their manager. I wasn't there so I can't tell you who hit him but I know Perez is pretty heated about it and plans on taking legal action. I don't understand what got the Black Eyed Peas so angry. Like, Perez is not the only person who does a celebrity blog and states their honest opinion, I do too and so many others also. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and that is the point to a blog. I think the people who say that he deserved it really need to grow up because he really didn't. There was no need for any of that nonsense.

Ok

Ok ok , I get what you all are saying let me shoot out this and I'll be done with it. Perez says his opinions on what celebrities do in life and they are mean opinions and people call him a bully. Now a few of you guys and many others say their opinions about Perez and what he does in life. What separates you guys writing about him negatively versus him writing about celebs negatively? Just like some people disagree with what he says, some people disagree with what you guys say. So basically, you are just like this person who you aren't even fond of. Again, if anyone really feels that crappy and abused by what he says, then just sue him like the rest of the world does when they have a problem. I'm not knockin' you guys for stating your opinion, since my point is everyone should be allowed to state their opinions. I'm just trying to make it aware you guys are entitled to opinions just as Perez is. It can be mean, nice, outrageous, whatever but all in all, we can be happy that everyone has freedom of speech. If you don't like what someone has to say, then don't listen and be on your merry way. <--- that rhymed, not on purpose, hehe. Thanks for the comments guys!

Simple Bully

I have to agree with wHATUP on this one. EVERYONE has a right to pursue happiness, whether as an actor/actress, singer, or blog writer, but when a person's pursuit of happiness is damaging or hurtful to someone else, they are nothing but a simple bully. Some bullies use words others use violence, both are abusive and cause damage to another. Plain and simple truth. CupCake

There is no rule that it comes with the territory. We have as a society decided that it comes with the territory because we love to tear people down. The right to criticize is a huge part of what the founding fathers wanted for their new country. With free speech you have to take the good with the bad, and unfortuately celebrity gossip is the bad. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Just because you have a bazillion hits doesn't make it right. Just because others do it doesn't make it right. I used to write a ton of celebrity stuff on this site and they were hugely successful - I made $84 in one day off a single post (that was a lot back then) and crashed the site because of the traffic to this post. Nick even wanted to make me the Celebrity Gossip writer and put my posts on the front page. But at the end of the day I felt bad - the people I was writing about were mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, daughters and sons. Trashing them (I did semi-witty bytes that poked fun at their escapades and behaviors) just wasn't what I believed a good writer would do - I was doing it for the money. I ended up quitting that stuff and feel much better about myself because of it. I make a pentenance of what I did before. Perez survived off of shock and did it at others expense. While violence should never be the answer, when you purposely try to think of the most hateful word you can think of to hurt some else (his own words - not mine) nothing good is going to come out of it. Fergie confronted him as is her right (somehow critics believe they are above criticism themselves or get offended when it happens). Given all that happen, even though she was nowhere to be found when the incident happened and after planning his little weeping speech, he threw a verbal jab at her because that is what he does. At what point do you make this transition from a private to a public citizen. Is it when you make a movie or when you step outside your house and no longer have any reasonable expectation of privacy? And yes since you are now an author you have put yourself out there so others can openly criticize you as much as they want as long as they don't cross libel or slander lines. Visit my homepage here

Re: Not sayin

I fully agree. People forget that celebrities are people too and there's only so much thick skin a person can develop. View My Associated Content articles here

It's still an opinion in the end

People don't have to visit his site but they do. People don't always agree with what he has to say, but you don't see him deleting all the negative comments that people post on his blogs when they disagree. As for Fergie, Perez does not normally say anything bad about her, in fact he said good things about her solo album. The reason Fergie got in his face was due to a comment he made about not liking the Black Eyed Peas latest single, that was it, he didn't even attack her personally. And if you posted pictures of me or any normal person and wrote bad things then yes the law would do something about it. But there is a rule to anyone who is a public figure, it comes with the territory. I can't imagine how many people out there have posted horrible things about the Black Eyed Peas in their own blogs, but it is only because Perez gets millions of hits that they are angry. If they are so mad about people's personal opinions then I'm sure there are plenty of other people that they need to get around to punching in the face. I can't see how anyone feels "abused" by the comments he writes on his site, that's just a little dramatic, annoyed? maybe, but definitely not abused. Again, hooray for Freedom of Speech, he clearly is using it to make a living, if karma is going to get him then let it happen when it happens, I don't really see how a punch in the face would count as karma working though. Like if lightening struck him randomly then its like damn, karma totally was after him. But random punches in the face? Not karma working. Until then Perez is going to continue to get millions and millions of hits to his web page whether it's people who like him or people who hate him.

Not sayin'

He should of been hit, I just said he was lucky it hasn't happened earlier. And I'm sorry I do not support him in anyway other than free speech. He has the right to say what he wants but unwarranted attacks on people just because you can is bullying. To say you think someone is not attractive is fine, to continuelly bomb them on your site because you can and it makes the minions feel better about their lives is not right. Drawing phallic symbols and worse on pictures is funny once after that your just trying to be abusive. And of course Fergie said something to him - he constantly attacks her - is she just suppose to sit back and take for years on end. Let me post pictures of you and call you every name I can think of for a year straight and let me know how you think of me. To hide behind that it is just your opinion is not right. You should hold yourself to a higher standard. Just because they are celebrities does not mean they should be abused. Criticized yes, abused no. Karma can be a bitch. Visit my homepage here

Some People Just Don't Understand

See I don't think people understand the point of his website. It is a BLOG. Therefore, it is his own opinions about current celeb gossip. He can comment about who ever he wants because its his blog. Some I agree with, some I don't, but who cares he can say what he wants. Of course he threw a jab at Fergie, she came up to him earlier in the night and started everything. Does that mean celebs can go and punch everyone who writes a celebrity blog in the face? No. Because they are public figures, they have no say in doing anything about what people write about them regarding personal opinions. That is something that comes with the territory. If his stuff was trash then I doubt he would be getting the millions of hits to his web page. I agree that it was bound to happen, but the law is the law, if you want to hit someone, then you deserve what you get. There were other ways to deal with this, but hitting him should not have been an option. I support Perez in what he does, he delivers the celebrity gossip and isn't afraid to say what he really thinks. The 1st Amendment backs him up don't you think?

Pot shots

Perez Hilton has had his 15 minutes. He takes shots at celebrities for no real reason. I haven't been to his site in a long time but he was relentless against Rumor Willis calling her all kinda names, same with Fergie and countless others. It is one thing to report gossip. It is another to give an opinion. And what he does is completely different. The is no reason to name call and get nasty - he is real lucky this hadn't happen before. During his little rant about this on TV he threw in a little jab at Fergie for no reason. Time for him to disappear. Visit my homepage here
