Personally tested websites that PAY.

Personally tested websites that PAY.

Maybe it’s the capitalistic society we live in, maybe it’s the fact I drink too much. Maybe I’m just plain greedy. For whatever reason though, I never seem to have enough money in my bank account or enough stuff on my shelves, or enough beer in my blood system.

I know that many of you out there are in the same situation, so I’m going to share the solution I found. One of my big hobbies is writing (Hunter S Thompson and Hemmingway are personal idols of mine), I’m not that bad at it, so why not try to make some money out of it?

After a couple of failed starts and wasted money, I finally found some websites that actually pay. They require a fair whack of work, and they won’t make you rich, but they can give you a decent amount of spending cash. None of them cost anything to get started, and none have any strict requirements. You can post as little or as much as you like, the only loss being a loss of earnings.

Triond-
Triond is the website that I started on, and up until recently spent 90% of my time on. They’ll take almost anything, common sense being the almost factor (I.E nothing offensive or illegal). They pay via paypal or cheque, and the minimum amount for payment by paypal is $10.
Your earnings are calculated based on each article’s estimate earning’s per thousand clicks. Long story short, more clicks = more money. Because of this, it’s actually quite hard to predict how much money you will earn, but you’ll soon get a feel for which articles are profitable and which are not.

Xomba-
Xomba has been a mixed bag for me. Unlike Triond which pays you based on your estimate clicks per thousand views, you get the money direct from the adverts on your work. This means that if there are no clicks, you get no money. However if you can write a few pieces that generate a lot of clicks, you will make far more money than you would with almost any of the other items on this list. Do your homework and research google adsense if you’re going to use this site.
They also run competitions form time to time which I’ve done quite well in, and these pay some quite respectable cash prizes. You can post almost anything on Xomba, and its referral system allows you to get some free money, although the system is not as good as those on some sites. Finally, it also has the xomblurbs system that lets you link to other pages and articles you may have written.

Bukisa-
Similar to Triond in many respects, but all your articles pays a flat rate based on how well the website as a whole is doing. This makes it much easier for you to predict how much you will earn. Bukisa also tends to pay a little more than triond. The one drawback is that they are quite picky about their topics compared with the other sites on this list, and only accept informative articles or how to guides. Still, if you can make it work then Bukisa is a good site for you. Like Xomba it also offers a referral system, but Bukisa’s is very good. The link above contains my referral, so please use it. You won’t loose anything, and if you’re in my network I can help you out with publicising your articles!

Blogspot.
Blogspot allows you to make a series of web logs (or blogs). You’ve probably seen blogs before. By adding google adsense to blogs, you can make a small fortune, especially if your blog is based around a highly specific subject. In order to have a successful blog you will need to update it often, and publicise it as you would your articles.
For me, blogs enhance the income I get from my other works rather than being cash cows in and off themselves. I provide links to my articles on other sides, thus increasing my views. For an example of this, click here. I also invite other writers to post in my blog, helping me keep it updated and adding some variety.

Zlio-
This is an interesting idea. You set up an online shop, and then resell items on behalf of another merchant. You gain a commission on each sale made. Like blogs or Xomba, this is more of an all or nothing endeavour, if you create a successful shop then you’ll be raking it in, if not then you’ll never sell anything. Zlio is pretty time intensive, but by linking it to blogs and articles on products that you use, you can help increase sales. You can also add adsense adverts to your shop, further increasing your revenue. I’ve made a bit with it, but not much. I get the feeling that I just ‘don’t get it’ though, so many someone more retail aware would do better. Either way, like everything else here it’s free bar your time, and so worth a shot.

Many of these are hyperlinked to my referral section. If you join up using these links and appear on my network, I’ll do anything I can to help you out. Your success is mine!

If I have to pick the best out of this I would say it's either Triond or Bukisa. Probably Bukisa. These two garuntee you a steady income, and Bukisa pays the best and offers a good referal scheme, but they are more limited on what you can write.
