Pharmaceutical company makes a mistake in preventing cholesterol

The pharmaceutical company responsible for Zetia and Vytorin claimed the drugs are not beneficial and are inaffective in preventing the build up of cholesterol.
Although the drugs Zetia and Vytorin do help lower cholesterol in some patients by 15% to 20% the drugs do not prevent the build up of plaque in the arteries. Test trials for Zetia an Vytorin ended 2 years ago, but the variablility in data kept the results from being released. Patients who have been taking Zetia and Vytorin could have been taking other perscribed medicines that could have been helped them lower the cholesterol and help prevent the build up of plaque.
