Philip Seymour Hoffman is a stage and screen actor from Fairport, New York. He was born on July 23rd 1967. He graduated from NYU's Tisch Scool of Arts in 1989 with a BFA in Drama. Hoffman had starred in a number of films in supporting roles most notably in the 1997 film "Boogie Nights" until landing the lead role of Truman Capote in "Capote" (2005) for which he was awarded the Oscar for Best Actor in 2006.
