I understand what you all are saying as far as, "why does it have to be a racial issue" however, THEY are the ones that made it racial. The suspects who did this let it be know that this was about race. If they didn't, than your point would be very valid, but they did. Trust me, I'm tired, of everything being about race because we are in 2007 and I know that there's always going to be racism from ALL races.

Six people tortured another person. That is the crime. If you are going to make race the issue here, then EVERY crime that is publicized needs to state race of perpetrator, regardless of whether it was black or white. If you compare the Department of Justice crime statistics to what is given media coverage, race is included only when whites commit crimes against blacks. Otherwise, if it is black on white, which is far more prevalent for interracial crimes, race is omitted, if the even is covered at all. Here is a link to a report about interracial crime in the US.
