Television bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman's son taped a private phone conversation in which the reality star used a racial slur repeatedly, then sold it to a tabloid for "a lot of money," Chapman's lawyer said Thursday.

Since Duane "Dog" Chapman the Bounty Hunter was caught on tape talking to his son, Tucker I've wondered myself whether Dog was a racist. "Dog" used the "n-word" several times to describe Tucker's girlfriend, Monique Shinnery. Duane, in the tape, was telling Tucker to break up with Monique or he would not inherit the family's Bounty Hunter business. He was also complaining about Monique possibly ruining his career by telling the public about how "Dog" uses racial slurs.

In retaliation to the racist remarks against his girlfriend, Tucker decided to sell the tape. "I guess because of whatever level of anger he had of his father, he felt the need to express it in that manner," attorney Brook Hart told The Associated Press.

Tucker Chapman could not be reached for a comment, and no one answered the telephone at a Honolulu number listed under his name.

On Wednesday the National Enquirer posted on its Web site a clip of the conversation of Duane "Dog" Chapman, the Bounty Hunter," repeatedly used the "n-word." Other sites have posted Pictures of Tucker Chapman and girlfriend Monique Shinnery and details of the tape.

Chapman later apologized to his son and Monique, and then learned about how the tape got into the tabloid's hands, Hart said.
