PINK - Breast Cancer Awareness Month - the Color in October
posted October 3, 2008 - 12:45pmOctober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Shoppers are being encouraged to buy-pink! There are a full-spectrum of cool items for sale, all to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Here are some of the many items available for sale to aid the foundation, and other associations aimed at fighting cancer:
1. Hope T-shirt ($38) from White House/Black Market stores. Net proceeds donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer.
2. Sport duffel bag from the BMW Pink Ribbon collection ($26) at bmw-online.com and BMW dealers. Susan G. Komen Foundation receives 80 percent of gross profits.
3. Pink Ribbon Shower Gel from Philosophy ($20) at philosophy.com. All net proceeds are donated to the Women's Cancer Research Fund.
4. Pink Winkee for the Cure, a bra accessory that covers cleavage, from heART & Soul Studios ($15) at thewinkee.com. Susan G. Komen Foundation receives $1 for every Winkee sold through December.
5. Stretch wrap cardigan by Wish from eDressMe.com ($60) at edressme.com. Susan G. Komen Foundation receives 20 percent of proceeds from the sale of selected items.
6. Signature Cable Candy bracelet in 18kt gold with garnet and pink sapphires from David Yurman ($3,600) at David Yurman boutiques. Ten percent of profits goes to Breastcancer.org.
7. Detachable pink-beaded bra straps from Straptini ($49). For Central Florida stores, check strap tini.com. Susan G. Komen Foundation receives 20 percent of proceeds.
Kyocera has donated over $162,000 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Actress and breast cancer survivor Cynthia Nixon is teaming up with us and challenging the nation to raise $4.5 million through "Passionately Pink for the Cure."
The simple national fundraising program inspires breast cancer advocacy and honors those affected by the disease.
