Pitfalls of Cash Reward Credit Cards

When you hear something like cash back or cash reward credit cards, you might think cash back well that can’t be a bad thing can it? Or if they tell you, you can get cash rewards for using our card and so on, that can’t be a bad thing to get cash rewards can it? Well yes it can be bad. Oftentimes when lenders attempt to get you to sign up with their company and get their credit card, they aren’t telling you all the facts. Or maybe they tell you everything but they are leaving out certain facts (like missed payment penalty or soaring interest rates). Or sometimes they forget to tell you that you will only get cash back after you have spent thousands of dollars on that card. Heck, they might be so clever that you may even forget that the cash reward credit card offers cash back or that you even have points that have racked up or are about to expire if you don't spend them now.

Well, don’t let yourself fall into the pits of the cash reward credit cards, they might not be all they sound like. These cash reward credit cards could end up putting you in a pitfall instead of being something good with the cash rewards. Do your research about cash reward credit cards and ask questions, plenty of questions about the terms and conditions and so forth and if you don’t like the answers, then don’t sign up for them.

Credit Cards do Have Definite Risks

I use an american express card for most of my purchases to get the points, but there are definite problems with using credit cards. If you carry a balance there is interest to pay. There are lots of surprising fees, and sometimes credit card companies change payment dates to catch people. If you can't pay the balance in full each month it is a bad idea to use rewards cards for the points. The math will not add up.
