Poison Aqua Dots Made In China
posted November 8, 2007 - 12:31pmThe latest recalled toy, Aqua Dots, have been traced to manufacturers in China.
Aqua Dots are small beads that children arrange into designs and then spray with water to make those designs permanent.
The product specifications call for a non toxic glue to coat the outside of the small beads in the toy. This glue causes the beads to stick together when they are sprayed with water. The glue then dries and the child's creation is made permanent.
The non toxic glue works well and most importantly is... non toxic...
However, Moose Toys, out sourced production of the toys to factories in China.... Some of those factories substituted a cheaper chemical glue for the non toxic glue called for in the specifications for the toy.
That substitute glue contains a chemical which, when ingested and combined with digestive juices, produces a chemical, gamma hydroxy butyrate or GHB, which is also found in the "date rape" drug. This chemical is very toxic to children and can produce paralysis, coma, and death.
This type of substitution to reduce cost is common in China. The government of China is not able to control what happens in its factories. Every day in China there are deaths from toxic materials that have been added or substituted to foodstuffs there.
If they can not control their own FOOD supply and keep it safe, how can we expect them to control the manufacture of toys?
And why are buying so much food from them? Read this article about food from China that is now invading our food supply here.
