Popular Books of the Depression Era

What were some of the popular books during the Depression Era? Turns out that werewolves were just as popular in the 1930s as Twilight is today. Another popular subject was about the loss of family fortunes and having to carry on in the face of economic disaster. Even Virginia Woolf penned a popular book about a dog named Flush in 1933.

And which published author was raking in the money in the early thirties? Here's a list of Temple Bailey's books.
