The drama of choosing the next First Dog is over. The decision has been made.

The winner is...a Portuguese Water Dog!

This cute and cuddly critter will be joining the First Family in the White House in April. The new addition to the Obama family will be a rescued animal.

Portuguese water dogs have an even temperament with children and are a water-loving energetic breed. Nicknamed a "portie," this breed is fun to be around and easy to train.
