Please send up some comforting and healing prayers for my Eleven year old Granddaughter Alysha. She just crushed her left hand pinkie finger in the car door and is now at Sacred Heart Medical Center Emergency room in Spokane. She is in a lot of pain. I put it on ice it is cut nearly in half at the finger tip and nail.

I also gave her a bottle of gatorade to drink with electrolytes for shock. I will keep you posted as to what happened and how serious it is once I hear or know. She will probably not be home until about 1:00 in the morning.

I just know she was really hurting and my son had twenty miles to drive to the hospital.

He should be there by now as it has been about 40 minutes ago. Thanks

UPDATE: She is home with big splint. It was definately broken. They had to sew the fingernail back on too they said if they didn't she would never have a fingernail on that finger again and it would be prone to infections.

Friday she has to see a hand specialist. It cost about $600 for emergency room and $30 for meds so far. Don't know what the specialist will charge or physical therapy will cost.

I know that her mom does not have medical insurance right now and my son has not been able to get it since he does not have 50% custody the state and SSDI won't cover the kids. Her mom and step dad both work so not sure why they don't have medical for the kids. Maybe their jobs don't cover it or somthing.

He can't afford it on his limited income. He pays child support and after that and living expenses not much left. He did pay for the medication though. Poor little girl she was sure in pain.

She was looking forward to swimming in the pool tomorrow and now she can't. She only has two days of summer vacation left here. She will be back Labor day weekend maybe we can find a way to keep the hand from getting wet and she can get in and splash around anyway.
