Praying for Our Prodigals

Praying our Prodigals home: I have been reading a book on praying home our prodigal children, sons, daughters, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, parents, friends.

Home to the arms of Jesus. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philip. 4:6

We need to be praying our prodigals home. To repentance, grace and salvation. The book is written by Quin Shearer and Ruthanne Garlock.

My church has started a prodigal prayer group to stand in the gap of intercessory prayer for our loved ones who are hurting, lost, suffering and being drawn to lust, temptation. Destroying their lives with alcohol, drugs, immoral sexual behavior, lust and greed.

Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God, For God cannot be tempted by evil nor does he himself tempt anyone. But each on is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed, Then when desire has concieved it gives birth to sin and sin when full grown, brings forth death. James 1:13-15

We have been praying and have asked God to do WHATEVER it takes to bring our prodigals home. We are not putting any stipulations or holds or bargins with God. But putting our loved ones totally in his hands to do with as he chooses to bring them back.

We have however asked him to make Satan take his hands off our loved ones and to keep away from them. We have commanded Satan in the name of Jesus to leave our loved ones alone and rebuked him in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Savior and King.

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know He hears us, Whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we asked of Him. I John 5:14-15. And; The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that ANY should perish, but that all should come to repentance. II Peter 3:9

Believe when you ask God to bring your prodigal home and do not put any bars or holds on how He is to do it. God will bring them home.

In doing this we have found another prayer group of similar inclination in Australia, they asked us to send them all the list of our prodigals, As of today we have 17 Prayer warriors and 62 prodigals we are praying for in our local prayer group. We in turn are getting a list of thier prodigals to pray for as well.

We will not cease to pray for the prodigals and will add to the list as asked and need.

In the three weeks since we began praying for some indiviuals some are beginning to come around. One man released from prison who lead a life of crime has asked his parol officer to be able to attend church every week. He has to come from Couer de Alene Idaho into Spokane, Washington.

Our prayer now is that he will be allowed to do this. Another person said thier niece asked them to pray for her, something she did not want done before. Another has told his dad he feels he needs help to stop drinking and has been thinking if he does not get right with Jesus he might not make it.

Others are still running away, eating with the pigs and falling in the slop. We are standing in the gap for them. We will not cease to pray for them daily and as a group once a week. We may try and meet twice a week soon.

Time is short. The Savior is returning and we need to pray for our loved ones to give thier life up to Jesus, to accept his pardon and to come home to salvation.

Some of you reading this will laugh, scoff and ridicule, that is ok. God still loves you even if you don't know or love him.

Someone somewhere maybe praying for you. Nothing, absoloutly nothing is impossible for God.

Brethern if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, Let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his ways will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. James 5: 19-20

Just thought I would put this out there for those of the faith who know God and love him, trust him and and to encourage you to stand in the gap, start a prayer warrior in your church, community etc.

Confess your tresspasses to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a rightous man avails much. James 5:16. May God bless you
