The President

Has recently remarked that the banks and lenders must be held accountable. He also said that we need to learn to live within our means. I’m sorry Mr. President, why doesn’t the government learn to live within your own means. You just finished spending the future of America s grandchildren with this foolish so called recovery act.

Why do you now feel the need to bail out those who aren’t paying their mortgages? I’m not talking about those who have recently lost their jobs, or those who are on SSI and retired. I’m talking about those who weren’t paying their mortgages when they did have a job. Why should I keep paying mine now? Why, because I have a sense of value and duty to my family. I still believe that it’s important to show my children that hard work does pay off, although with the work done by Democrats and the Public School System over the years it has become increasingly difficult.

Instead of rewarding slackers, why don’t you reward those who have worked hard to pay their bills and mortgages. Those who have tried to save and stay ahead of the game should be given a break this time. Why doesn’t the government give those of us that haven’t lived way beyond our means a break for a change. What about reimbursing the loss in value of our homes over the last year? Democrats were warned on several occasions about Fannie and Freddie. In a hearing in2004 Maxine Waters stated that there was nothing wrong with Fannie and Freddie. Gregory Meeks and Arthur Davis couldn’t do anything but chide the regulatory board member Christopher Shays who was asking some questions. Barney Frank, just like Maxine Waters stated emphatically that nothing was wrong with Fannie or Freddie either.

I suppose asking to have the loss in value of my house to be reimbursed to me sounds ridiculous to many of you doesn’t it? Well probably no more to me than having me and my children and grand children pay for the misfortunes of the irresponsible. Tax breaks for those who don’t pay FICA? Please. President Obama is going to give me 13 dollars a week. We all know what happens to an extra 13 dollars a week, It gets absorbed by needless things. It’ll go for a candy bar and a pop. A six pack and some chips or smokes. It isn’t going to pay any bills.

You won’t prime the economy by trying to pull those on the bottom up with bribes from the government. What needs to be done is push it up from the bottom to the top. We’ll never regain stability by undoing welfare reform. You can lead a slacker to a job, but you can’t make them work. That doesn’t mean we should give them something just for the “feel good” emotion either.

Why give the states more money for welfare incentives? Why pay for people to exist? Put up money as a reward for being a useful and productive member of society. We live in a country where people living at the “poverty” level have cell phones, big screen televisions, play station 3’s and a couple cars. I wouldn’t really call that poverty. Why don’t those on welfare be required to do community service? There are plenty of public areas in all of our cities that could use some cleaning up. Too bad if you believe that you’re above this kind of work. If my tax dollars are paying you, then I think you should be doing something productive with tax payer money.

This monstrosity should never have been allowed to see the light of day. The saddest part is that most people don’t realize that a little more than half of this money won’t be released until just before the next election cycle. Yeah, that’s to keep those of you thinking that the Democrats really are doing something for you other than keeping you in the dark and voting for those who want to keep you there.

Think I’m being rough? That’s your opinion and I respect you for that, after all it is our right to have an opinion and voice it. At least for now anyway.
