President George W. Bush is a Saint

President George W. Bush is a Saint

Refer A Friend using Revolution Money Exchange

President George W. Bush was scheduled to visit the Episcopal Church in NW Washington as part of his campaign to restore his 28% approval rating in the polls. Karl Rove made a visit to the Bishop and said, "We've been getting a lot of bad publicity because of the President's position on stem cell research, the Iraq war, Hurricane Katrina, and the VA Hospitals. But, we'll make a $500,000 contribution to your church if during your sermon you will say that the President is a saint."

The Bishop thought it over for a few moments and finally said, "The Church could really use the money - I'll do it."

The following Sunday, President Bush showed up for the sermon, and the Bishop began: "I'd like to speak to all of you this morning about our President, George Bush. He is a liar, a cheat, and a low-intelligence weasel. He took the tragedy of September 11 and used it to frighten and manipulate the American people. He lied about weapons of mass destruction and invaded Iraq for oil and money, causing the deaths of tens of thousands and making the United States the most hated nation on earth. He appointed cronies to positions of power and influence, leading to widespread death and destruction during Hurricane Katrina. He awarded contracts and tax cuts to his rich friends so that we now have more poverty in this country and a greater gap between rich and poor than we've had since the Depression.

"He has headed the most corrupt, bribe-inducing political party since Teapot Dome Scandal. The national surplus has turned into a staggering national debt of 7.6 trillion Dollars, gas prices are up 85%, which the people of America cannot afford, and vital research into global warming and stem cells is stopped cold because he's afraid to lose votes from the religious right.

"He is the worst example of a true Christian I've ever known. But compared to Dick Cheney, George W. Bush is a saint."

Although this posting is intended as a joke, it doesn't mitigate the fact that Bush is a terrible (maybe the worst ever) president and more crimes against the Constitution and against the working Middle Class were perpetrated by the Bush Regime than any other president in American history. If our country was heading toward the Abyss when Clinton was president, we are freefalling into it since Bush and Cheney have greased the path ahead of us and installed rockets on our backs.

Buddhism: Loading the Empty Justice-Scales

It still interests me, because it allows for some realism. Every week, the Christian church pays homage to their imaginary man-reborn. (I know 'imaginary' may be a dirty word if you take it to mean "totally unreal," but the meaning I'm talking about is 'totally unreal unless you believe it to be real' ... same thing? not really; I'm imaginary to you, you're imaginary to me ...) That's a nice story, but it doesn't have any real effect on us now; Does it? Buddhism, on the other hand, is basically a list that says 'this is a good pattern; walk this way.' You can pay homage to whatever you want, but it doesn't stop the truth from being true. Of all religions I've studied

Buddhism always interested me the most -- back when I was considering religions, that is. :)

Right, KJ. Who Needs Another System besides the Ones We Deal in

The Nervous-System, the Finance-System, the Water-System, the Entertainment-Business system, the Electricity-Network ... let's just deal with what we've got and hope our brains don't explode. I'd say that's a Buddhist way to go about things, if it weren't for the religious attachment that word commonly has. Attack my name and character, but DILLIGAF?

There's nothing about your screed, eggsoveresy, that one could read and possibly believe that you are a Christian. Yes, you mention God and Jesus, but your accusatory and vitriol-filled words belie your true character. I understand the fallibility of the human character, so I am willing to give your grace for that, but when you start attacking me personally ad hominem, you've already conceded the argument. You religious politics aside, there is so much more going on with the Bush Regime that you cannot possibly hope to understand it all if you continue to view it through such a myopic lens. The OP--which I posted, not you--is about Bush and the treasonous regime over which he presided since 2001. Do you have anything AT ALL to add to that discussion or are you going to Rah-Rah our Traitor-in-Chief until you are hoarse in the throat? Your preferred tactic of labeling everyone who dislikes murderous despots as "Obama voters" is wearing thin and copying nonsensical arguments from your other posts, like "basic principals like week sister", does little to disabuse me of the notion that you have something wrong somewhere that upping the dosage of certain medications may help your mental clarity and verbal acuity. We don't have to agree about everything or even most anything, but the OP is what I posted and I am defending my words. If you have something substantive to contribute to the discussion, fine, if not, there are plenty of other places for you to post. In fact, why not make some of your own posts on this very subject? Tell the reading world about what a great man George W. Bush is and how his legacy to the world will be one of love and light, the preservation of human life, and care for the environment. Or just go ahead and label me an "Obama-voter", as if you have a clue what a minarchist is or who we consider the best candidate for public office. God created you with a mind to think and eyes to see, yet you fail to use either. Sad. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?

When somebody is telling others that they can't understand spirituality merely because they aren't Christians, I see that as being very narrow minded. Sorry, but that kind of thinking comes from a limited perspective. I'm not saying you believe that, of course. But it appears that eggs most certainly does. ↑ Grab this Headline Animator Join Xomba

I agree with Eggsovresy

~~ Actually Christianity is as 'Out of the Box' as you can get... Believing in God being sent in the form of a man to die for our sins and rise from death, giving those that believe in Jesus with all their hearts eternal life. Every thing I read in the Bible is out of the box. It is people that have their own agenda and beliefs that put the truth in a box, close the lid and turn the key to it in their own hearts. It's fine for you not to believe in God - I do believe in God and His Son Jesus. Just please don't tell Christians to start thinking out of the box - we Already do. There are many forms of spiritualality people claim today. Those that are not of Christian faith and Christian Spiritualality will not understand and argue it til the day they die. I'll pass on Christianity, thanks

If it works for you, fine. But I long ago lost the need for any belief system. ↑ Grab this Headline Animator Join Xomba

Hay wood and stubble, gold,

Hay wood and stubble, gold, silver and precious stones, the donkey in the wilderness with her nose in the air to catch the scent of her favorite, drinking from an empty cistern what thirst does this not quench, right man right woman, divine establishment, the mark of the criminal, war, Gods peace, impersonal love, personal love, romantic love and the difference of each. Why Jesus. Humility, Gods Virtue, integrity, Sitting at the gate.... Out of the box Kjhack? These are not even meat and potato doctrines they are for the brephos. But they all have a why, a how come and what for, even when to. Christianity is what God has to offer us, not what we offer him. It doesn't change an individual from the outside in. It changes them from the inside out. That is why they say the smallest light will be seen in the darkest places. Religion is man made what man can do for God. Christianity is what God can do for you.

On spirituality

Non spiritual can not understand Spiritual. Yeah, I've heard this a million times from Christians. It's as if they believe that if you don't subscribe to Christianity -- or even the notion of God, for that matter -- you can't be spiritual. What nonsense. You need to broaden your definition of spiritual, Eggs. Try thinking outside the box for once. ↑ Grab this Headline Animator Join Xomba
