Pro Choice? Not if You're on the Left

Pro Choice? Not if You're on the Left

In today's world, most people know which side they belong to when it comes to abortion rights. On one side, supporters of the "left wing" in politics are typically pro-choice, and supporters of the "right wing" are considered pro-life. Today I'm going to focus on the pro-choice side of the aisle, but I won't be speaking of abortion. You see, when it comes to important choices in your life, many who claim they are pro-choice advocates want you to have nothing of the sort. What they fear most is decisions that are right for the individual.

Daily decisions that affect your life and the well-being of your family should be left up to you. The person who knows best what is right for you and your family, and the person who should be held responsible for those decisions, is you. But leave it to the people who claim they are pro-choice to leave you with the least amount of choices. If they had things their way, you wouldn't be able to choose your doctor. That would be left up to the government. If your child is, God forbid, attending a failing public school, would you be able to put them in a better public school? Absolutely not. Your child is doomed to fail. Even when it comes to your own money for retirement, you shouldn't have a choice to put it into interest bearing accounts. All of it should go into a so-called "trust fund" run by the government, but the excess funds actually get spent every year by power hungry politicians.

Individual responsibility seems to be quickly fading into the past. There was a time when individuals made decisions and were expected to live with the consequences and possibly learn from them. Today's pro-choice crowd in our government doesn't want to give you that chance. They want to choose for you and they could care less how it affects your life. We're all expected to sacrifice for the "common good" and do just what the politicians prescribe for us. What is most frustrating is that many people would rather let the government make those extremely tough decisions, such as whether or not you want your child properly educated. People aren't willing to accept that their choices may yield negative results, and would rather have someone to blame if things don't go according to plan. With this growing inability to perform what used to be every day functions, the pro-choice rabble pounces on every opportunity to make us more dependent on the government. After all, the more dependent we are on them to operate our own lives, the more power they gain.

Having the ability to choose your own destiny is one of the main attractions our country offers to people around the world. It is what made us who we are, and it is why we are so free and prosperous today. Dreams and goals, having the resources to attian them, and being able to choose how to reach them, all of these are things we take for granted. Some people want limits on them. Others say that we're not capable of handling such complicated matters. If we don't wake up as a society and realize what great opportunities we have, the next time we wake, we may not have it. Don't leave the future of your family in the hands of the government. Don't be afraid of making a wrong decision, be delighted that you are the one making it.

The choice is yours.

I liked your take. Didn't necessarily agree.

Interesting perspective.

Interesting perspective. Thanks for that. I am pro-choice, but not in the breakdown you've described.
