PRODUCT REVIEW*: Old Time Pepsi & Mountain Dew. Made With Real Natural Sugar!

Pepsi Cola has started distributing their "Throwback" versions of Pepsi and Mountain Dew. What is Throwback? It's the real old Pepsi, before the days of high fructose corn syrup. Yes, it may be hard to believe now, but, once-upon-a-time, both, Pepsi and Mountain Dew were made with plain old sugar. No sugar substitute.

The plain old sugar was a mix of sugar cane and sugar beets. The cola flavor was more accented with sugar and lasted past the end of the beverage.

Mountain Dew, which has a bit of orange juice in it is today known for its acidy taste more than that of the juice. But, again, with plain old sugar, Mountain Dew has an entirely different flavor, and some may not like it, but, the old flavor is back, and citrus flavor it is!

Throwback Pepsi and Mountain Dew will only be around for about eight weeks. Distribution is aimed from the middle of April through the middle of June.

Look for it at your store, or, possibly, in a vending machine?

And, after you have a chance to try it, why not go to:
http://www.bevreview.com/
and write your personal review of the product, and let Pepsi and others know how you liked the product(s).

I haven't drank a soda pop in twenty years, but, I might just try one. I remember Pepsi and Coke made with sugar, and, to me, they were a lot more refreshing, and flavorful.

RE: If you like coffee for caffeine, try Matte.#1 beverage Argen

I've never heard of Matte before. I am a big fan of caffeine in all its forms. I will try to find it. Here is another innovative way to get your caffeine in the morning: http://www.xomba.com/refreshing_shower_and_body_wash_delivers_invigorating_caffeinated_experience

If you like coffee for caffeine, try Matte.#1 beverage Argentina

Matte is grown by small farms in the rain forest country. Of all teas Matte has the highest number of antioxidants. It naturally contains caffeine, but, unlike coffee that lifts you up and can drop you down just as quick, Matte lasts far longer and has a mellow come down. Matte can be steeped like tea, or brewed in an Espresso machine. I created my own special beverage I call Matteine. It's made of 7 parts Matte and 3 parts coffee. I drink it all day long. No upset stomach, just clear-clean sailing.

Pepsi Throwback

I bought a 12 pack of the Pepsi Throwback after seeing the press of the new soda. I've tried two of them, but I am not a fan of soda anymore. It tastes like a soda, I'm not sure I would rate it better than another. I think I would prefer a diet Pepsi instead. I do like the fact that it is using a more natural substance, but I will stick to coffee for my caffeine.

Corn Syrup vs Natural Sugar - New (old-style) Pepsi Throwback

The United States is one of the few countries in the Western Hemisphere who uses corn syrup for a sweetener over sugar. And, like I said, I gave soda pop up twenty years ago, your mention about the smoothness of the product and easy to drink pushes me to try one today. I'll write later today of my experience. Alright! Something new to do!! Thank you for commenting.

I Like Pepsi Throwback

The natural sugar gives makes it smoother and easier to drink than its corn syrup laden counter part. I haven't tried the Mountain Dew yet but I think that I will give it a try and see what it tastes like with a more juice flavor.
