Project Runway Recap August 6

The August 6 episode of Project Runway saw the end of designer Jennifer's quest for victory.

The challenge of the night was to design an outfit for the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The designers were given $150 to buy their materials. Each seemed to have a different vision with some of them forgetting to use the colors red, white, and blue altogether. Tim Gunn gave his usual advice which seemed prophetic. He pointed out possible concerns to Daniel, who was worried he was creating a Wonder Woman outfit. He told Jennifer her outfit looked matronly. He told Blayne his design looked "Sgt. Pepperish" which Blayne didn't understand because of his age.

The guest judge of the night was Apolo Ono who apparently knows fashion (not sure how). Only a few of the outfits stood out. All in all the designs were quite average. After the remaining 13 models came down the runway, Suede, Kelli, Leanne, Stella, Keith, Blayne, and Kenley were declared safe from elimination. The remaining 6 were the ones who had the top 3 scores and the bottom 3 scores.

The bottom 3 were Jennifer, Daniel, and Jerell, whose dress seemed quite busy. The top 3 were Terri, Joe, and Korto. After deliberating, the judges gave the win to Korto, whose design was quite chic. She will have immunity in the next week's challenge.

The judges also decided that Jennifer was the one with the worst design. Nina Garcia remarked that Jennifer can't seem to get away from her own vision. It proved to be her downfall.
